Recent Acquisitions

Historic Arkansas Museum - Friday, March 13, 2015

The Recent Acquisitions exhibition will feature objects acquired for the museum’s permanent collection from 2012 to late 2014.

The exhibition includes both 2-D and 3-D historical artifacts as well as contemporary pieces relevant to Arkansas history and heritage. Highlights of the exhibit include: a rare pre-1940 Niloak mission swirl pattern punch bowl and cup set, an 1890 portrait of Sitting Bull, two circa 1860 Arkansas-made derringer pistols made by gunsmiths L.F. Trumpler and A.R. Mendenhall, and a 2009 painting by Arkansas artist John Kushmaul featuring a scene of the Arkansas State Capitol and downtown Little Rock.
