The Historic Arkansas Museum has several museum volunteer and intern programs, which are great opportunities for volunteering in Arkansas.

Volunteering in Arkansas is fun and educational, especially at the Historic Arkansas Museum, where history comes to life. We need you. Historic Arkansas Museum is dedicated to preserving your Arkansas history. You are the reason we are here and your involvement is essential to keeping our history alive.

As a volunteer, you will learn about Arkansas history from our curators and educators, meet new people, and see the delight of children as they have fun connecting with history, all while helping enrich the visitor's experience.

Fun volunteer jobs include:

  • Engaging children in fun interactive activities
  • Assisting in our wonderful Museum Store
  • Participating in special events
  • Interpreting the Historic Houses for visitors
  • Greeting the public and answering questions
  • Aiding staff with light office work and data entry
  • Greeting and serving at receptions
  • Assisting in the Curatorial department
