Rhonda Berry and Diana Michelle Hausam
Second Floor Gallery
June 10 through August 7, 2011
Free opening reception in conjunction with downtown Little Rock's 2nd Friday Art Night on June 10, 5 - 8 pm, with live music by Bonnie Montgomery Trucking
Emerging artists Rhonda Berry and Diana Michelle Hausam direct our attention to forgotten places in Arkansas through their distinctive photographic practices.
Using traditional dark room methods, Berry layers her images to create imagined, haunting scenes.
Hausam works in the important contemporary trend of documentation to capture abandoned sites in their found state.
Forgotten Places—situated in rural Arkansas—connects the local to universal themes of memory, place and passage of time.
For the June 11 opening, there will be live music by Bonnie Montgomery Trucking:
Operatically-trained, redneck-reared and well-travelled, Arkansas native Bonnie Montgomery makes music at the intersection of hillbilly, opera and folk.
