On Second Thought…, the seventh in the annual Eclectic Collector series, includes original music manuscripts, marked and notated in the composer’s hand, that reflect the changing mind of the composer. The 40 pieces on exhibit, most signed or initialed by the composer, give the visitor an inside peek at the creative process behind acclaimed American music. Included in the exhibit are manuscripts by composers George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Victor Herbert, Dave Brubeck, William Albright and Stephen Sondheim. Robert and Angie Boury’s collection of American music manuscripts is a virtual history of the influence of popular music in American Art Music of the 20th century. Robert Boury is Composer in Residence at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock.
