Self Portrait 1 by Michael WorshamMichael Worsham
Compositions and Faces

Trinity Gallery for Arkansas Artists

January 31 through May 5, 2008
Opening reception on February 8, 5 - 8 pm, in conjunction with 2nd Friday Art Night

Compositions and Faces features the work of contemporary Arkansas artist Michael Worsham. The 16 large canvases portray Worsham's friends and neighbors in vivid color and informal poses. Worsham’s portraits create an almost automatic Dannielle 1 by Michael Worshamrelationship with the viewer and each work is imbued with the personality of the sitter. "Some of my work also displays a sense of humor, twists to formal posing," says Worsham. He sites among his influences, Harlem Renaissance artist Ernest Crichlow (1914 – 2005) as well as contemporary Miami-based artist Michael Vasquez.

Some of the artist's work will be available for purchase in the Museum Store.
