201809 Face to Face: Contemporary Portraits

Nov. 9, 2018

What happens when two otherwise unrelated portraits are hung side by side or face to face? From Louis Freund’s 1950s sketches to more contemporary works by John Harlan Norris and Lisa Krannichfeld, explore unexpected odd couples, sideways glances, and downright disdainful glares in this playful grouping of contemporary portraits from the museum’s collection. Face to Face will be on view in the Second Floor Gallery through February 3, 2019.
