All of Arkansas: Arkansas Made, County by County

All of Arkansas: Arkansas Made, County by County

March 10, 2017-March 11, 2018

This eclectic exhibition is testimony to the museum’s tireless search, over the past four decades, for fine, decorative and mechanical arts from all of Arkansas's 75 counties.

Visitors will see long-forgotten pieces that seldom reach the spotlight of our galleries: a “banjolin” manufactured in Sebastian County; an early 1800s cupboard from the delta’s Phillips County, handcrafted with wood recycled from a river barge; and derringer style pistols made by A.R. Mendenhall, of Prairie County.

Other works show the success and talent of Arkansas’s more prominent fine artists, such as Adrian Brewer, Jenny Delony and Louis Freund; as well as the Japanese American internment camp art by Sadayuki Uno. The works, small and big, obscure and celebrated, showcase never-ending our journey throughout the state to find Arkansas Made.

All of Arkansas: Arkansas Made, County by County continues in the ARKANSAS MADE GALLERY through March 11, 2018.
