Additional Event Details

Regular admission of $2.50 adults, $1 children. Free for museum members.

Join us on the museum’s historic grounds, a remnant of Little Rock’s oldest neighborhood. Each day during Spring Break features a different theme, with pioneer cooking demonstrations, hands on activities, tours of the farmstead and make-and-take crafts.

Monday • A Day in the Life
It’s work day! Help with some pioneer chores and also try your hand at writing with a quill pen, using sealing wax and carding wool.

Tuesday • Fun and games
After the work was done, it was time to relax. Learn different pioneer games and even make a game to take home with you.

Wednesday • Cowpoke day
In honor of Broncho Billy, an Arkansas native who was Hollywood’s first cowboy, we celebrate cowboys and cowgirls everywhere. Ride a stick horse and make a fun craft.

Thursday • Not Just for dinner
Learn how pioneers made use of foodstuffs for other things besides food, and make a print with potato stamps.

Friday • Coming and Going
The people who lived on our block came from all different places. Learn why they came to Arkansas. Help pack for the gold rush and try your luck at panning for “gold”. No pioneer cooking demonstration on Friday as we are getting ready for the Behind the Big House program.
