The Traill"s Flycatcher was just one of 435 watercolors of American birds that were reproduced in hand-colored aquatint by Robert Havell, Jr. They were published in London as the "Birds of America" in four volumes between 1827 and 1838. A separate five volume text was published in London, between 1831 and 1839 and was entitled "Ornithological Biographies."
