Vivid watercolor of a Dahlia by Little Rock artist, Thomas W. Clapham. Thepainting is signed in the lower right corner, "T.W. Clapham-Nov, 1936."Thomas Wilson Clapham was born in Arkansas in 1900, and graduated with a degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1923. Clapham was Little Rock"s first full time engineer. His obvious skill as a draughtsman, combined with his innate love of drawing and painting is clearly recognizable in the sheer volume and quality of work he produced over a career spanning more than fifty years.
