Mary"s mother was Jane Barton and her father's name was John Bradley, Jr. After his death, Jane remarried William Woodward. Together they moved with her three daughters to Long Prairie, Arkansas in 1818.

Mary Jane Bradley (1809 - 1878) married James Sevier Conway in 1826. The couple had ten children (five of whom died in early infancy or childhood.) Her husband, James Sevier would become the first governor of the state of Arkansas (1836-1840).
