The name of the horn’s owner, “JAS E. GIBSON,” is prominently carved in bas-relief on one side of the profusely decorated hunting horn. The horn is visually dominated by the extrava-gantly incised carving of E. P. Washburn’s famous painting, “The Arkansas Traveler.” Bars from the accompanying music are located below the much praised genre scene. Below the Traveler the craftsman, possibly Gibson himself, has carved a vibrant rendition of the Great Seal of the State of Arkansas.
