This table was made from the cedar tree that Mrs. William E. (Jane) Woodruff [1795-1885] planted at the Point of Rock at the age of twelve when she first arrived in Little Rock in 1824. Jane would later marry William Woodruff, founder of the Arkansas Gazette, in 1827. The tree was cut down many years later. A metal inscription on the top of the table reads as follows:Made of the Wood of a Cedar Transplanted from Point of Rock in 1822 by Mrs. Jane Eliza Woodruff Nee Mills then 12 years of age Presented to her Granddaughter Janie Woodruff 1887"
